There are no lines of absurdity that cannot be crossed in the European institutions. The issue of revoking the immunity of Polish Members of the European Parliament for liking their own party’s advertisement is just one example. According to MEP Bogdan Rzońca, EU taxes were discussed in the European Parliament with empty benches. He also drew attention to the protests against the document on the disclosure of third-country funding by NGOs.
Important debate in the European Parliament with empty benches
EU institutions like to deal with issues that go beyond absurdity. Currently, for example, this concerns the lifting of the immunity of Polish Members of the European Parliament for a ‘like’ on social media. But they also dealt with the issue of introducing gender-neutral language, removing the nativity scene, not to mention the introduction of EU standards for the banana curve, i.e. the European Commission Regulation of September 1994, which provided the banana pattern.
MEP Bogdan Rzońca announced further situations on social media.
In the European Parliament, with empty benches, there is a debate about new own resources and new taxes for the EU budget! So where are the decisions made? Maybe in Berlin and Paris? PE becomes a facade!
– emphasized the MEP in a message on Twitter/X.
But that’s not the end. Bogdan Rzońca also said that the EC document related to, among other things: The disclosure of third-country financing by non-governmental organizations was protested.
The European Commission is working on the “Defense of Democracy Package” – the document worth mentioning is the requirement for non-governmental organizations (NGSs) to disclose their funding from third countries. There are protests against the document, but who is afraid to reveal funding from Germany or Russia?
– wrote MEP Rzońca.
