K239 Chumoo are self-propelled rocket launchers produced in South Korea by the Hanwha group. In November last year, Poland signed a contract for the supply of 218 such launchers, together with a logistics and training package, ammunition supplies including several thousand precision missiles at a range of 80 km (Chunmoo 239 mm Missile) and 290 km (Long Range Missile) and Technical Support. A total of 288 launchers will be delivered to the Polish Army as part of the entire project, called HOMAR-K.
The launch vehicles produced for Poland are mounted on Polish Jelcz trucks. The first launch vehicle built in this way arrived in Poland in August, after tests on training grounds in South Korea. Deliveries of the ordered launch vehicles are expected to last until 2027.
Chunmoo launchers can fire a variety of guided and unguided missiles. Each launcher is equipped with two rocket pods that can accommodate different types of rockets. According to the AU, each container contains, depending on the ammunition used: 6 guided missiles of caliber 239 mm with a range of 80 km, or 1 guided tactical missile of caliber 600 mm with a range of 290 km. Existing solutions also include containers for: 20 unguided 131 mm K33 missiles with a range of 36 km, 6 unguided 230 mm KM6A2 missiles with a range of 45 km, or 2 guided 400 mm caliber missiles with a range of more than 200 km.
