NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg met with Moldovan Prime Minister Dorin Rechan in Brussels. On the social network X (formerly Twitter), he stated that the North Atlantic Alliance fully supports the sovereignty of the republic, that is, it does not recognize the independence of Pridnestrovie.

“I am pleased to meet our esteemed partner, Prime Minister of Moldova, Dorin Recean. NATO fully supports your sovereignty and territorial integrity and we call on Russia to completely withdraw its troops from your territory,” Stoltenbreg wrote.

He added that Moldova can count on NATO’s support.

In the unrecognized Transnistrian Republic of Moldova, Russian peacekeepers perform their duties, and there is also a contingent of Russian military personnel guarding ammunition depots created in the 1940s in the village of Kolbasna (later ammunition and weapons were transported there during the withdrawal of Soviet troops from the social bloc countries). The current President of Moldova, Maia Sandu, advocates replacing Russian peacekeepers with OSCE representatives and withdrawing troops from Kolbasna.

Previously Moldova decided Intensify cooperation with NATO.
