I believe that Law and Justice has discredited the Institute for National Remembrance over the past eight years; this institution should certainly not function in this formula – said the head of the KO club, Borys Budka, on Radio Zet. Referring to the meeting at the Presidential Palace, he said the President assured cooperation with the future government.
Liquidation of the Institute for National Remembrance in the coalition agreement
When asked on Radio Zet whether the Institute for National Remembrance should be liquidated, Budka replied that “it may also be included in the coalition agreement.”
I believe that Law and Justice has brought this institution into disrepute over the past eight years
– he said.
Let’s think about the future, not the past. The Institute for National Remembrance should certainly not function in this formula
– Budka noted.

What about investments and KPO?
The KO politician was also asked on what issues the current opposition would like to establish investigative committees after taking power in the next term of the Sejm.
Of course, this is a matter of respirators, this is a matter of Ostrołęka, for example, this is a matter of supervision
– said the head of the KO club.
I think this is a big challenge, especially examining the role of the Polish services and the monitoring of the opposition in the period 2015-2023.
– added.
Budka was also asked why the opposition did not want to continue with the construction of the Central Communications Gate after the takeover.
First of all, you need a thorough audit in this area. Such investments cannot be built on human suffering
– emphasized the head of the KO club. According to him, many mistakes were made in the preparation of this investment.
Budka was also asked whether the opposition plans to take responsibility for the words of the head of the PO, Donald Tusk, who stated that he would unblock the KPO funds the day after the elections, and the day after the elections Member of Parliament Katarzyna Lubnauer (KO) ‘ridiculed’ anyone who took this statement seriously.
We will do everything we can to get this money to Poland as quickly as possible. We have accounts ready that can unlock this money
– assured the KO politician.
When asked if it was an exaggeration to say it would be the day after the election, Budka said that “it was to show that we are able to do it very quickly.”
And that’s why Donald Tusk is in Brussels today to talk about it
– emphasized the politician.
When asked whether it will be possible to obtain these funds without reaching milestones in the courts, the head of the KO club said that “the milestones can be achieved very quickly.”
Budka was also asked about Tusk’s statement a few years ago on the ban on fur farming and whether such a ban will now be introduced.
We will present this to our coalition partners
– emphasized the KO politician.
In response to the comment that it will not be easy because, for example, PSL has a different opinion on this, Budka said that “there are certainly areas where a compromise must be sought.”
However, Tusk clearly stated on the part of the PO that such a ban should be introduced
– added.

Consultation in the presidential palace
The head of the KO club, Borys Budka, was also asked about the president’s meeting with Donald Tusk and the KO team.
The meeting took place in a very pleasant atmosphere. The President assured that he would comply with the Constitution and all planned steps and that he would cooperate with the future government.
– replied the head of the KO club.
When asked that President Duda and the head of the Platform had a lot to blame each other for and whether this was visible during this meeting, Budka replied: “It was a good meeting. However, whether it will have a positive effect, we will see in the president’s decision.”
Donald Tusk came in with a clear majority: 248 seats. And now the president, if he wants to respect both the Constitution and, above all, the will of the sovereign who said on October 15: “stop, I want a breakthrough, I want change.” The voters said “we want change”, then the president should not look at the nonsense that (Prime Minister) Mateusz Morawiecki tells him, not believe in these lies, but entrust the mission of forming a government to the opposition
– said Budka.
The KO politician was also asked about the words of the head of the President’s Office, Marcin Mastalerek, who said that Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki presented the President’s government plan and that he spoke to a certain group of parliamentarians.
Let’s look at the facts, not myths. The head of PSL, the head of Poland and the head of the left clearly stated where the majority was. Donald Tusk has the support of 248 MPs
– Budka noted.
According to him, “PiS President Jarosław Kaczyński and his company are waiting to have more time to get their papers in order, to get as much money as they can, to make decisions that they no longer have the moral or political right to to have.”
When asked if he was sure about all the new MPs – elected from the Third Way, Left and KO, Budka replied: “I’m sure.”
