“We hear the voices of activists from the PSL and local authorities who say that they would not mind if their leadership started talks with PiS,” PiS MP and head of the Parliamentary Foreign Affairs Committee Radosław Fogiel said at the radio. A. He added that if the opposition takes power, there will be a bulldog fight under the carpet in the coming years. “There is no program coherence among the opposition. The only thing they have in common is their hatred of Law and Justice,” he said.
Consult with the president
On Tuesday and Wednesday, at the invitation of the Head of State, consultations will take place at the Presidential Palace with representatives of the individual electoral commissions that will be represented in the next Sejm. Fogiel was asked in “Sygnały Dnia” on program one of Polish radio who will represent Law and Justice in these talks.
I think today we have to make a final decision on who goes from PiS to Mr. President. At least we know approximately what will be discussed. It is not about purely parliamentary arithmetic, but about fundamental issues, also from the perspective of the powers of the head of state.
– replied the PiS MP. He stressed that there “may be reasons for concern” in these cases.
The point is to ensure that a potential new government, regardless of its constellation, does not undo the achievements of the past eight years.
– he explained.
The plan for most?
What is Law and Justice’s plan to build a coalition? Will the current ruling party win a parliamentary majority?
It would be arrogant and rude if I were to tell here, as an unauthorized person, what Mr. President will hear from PiS representatives. I have to raise this issue but when it comes to potential partners this is how the Polish Constitution sees it, after all we didn’t create it
– he said. He added that there are individual constitutional steps and that the party that won the elections is trying to build a majority.
You could ask questions about how she would behave, what would be said by PO representatives trying to force the President to behave this way, if the President were to entrust the mission of forming a government completely arbitrarily to, for example, Kosiniak-Kamysz. Would PO then vote for such a government?
– He asked.
There is always a conversation about quoting the best classic (…). I also understand that the PSL leadership is taking such a tough stance because they are probably afraid of other opposition groups. It is a decision to what extent this bond should be exclusively unwillingness towards PiS, which unfortunately often turns into unwillingness towards PiS voters.
– he continues, pointing out that there is no coherence in the program on the part of the current opposition.
We hear the voices of Polish People’s Party activists and local government activists who say they would not mind if their leadership started talks with PiS.
– Fogiel revealed.
Once the president entrusts the mission of forming the government to a representative of PiS, the process of building a majority in a constitutional sense will begin.
– added.
In general, we are open to cooperation with people who have Poland in their hearts and who care about the country’s development and security. (…) We are not attached to stools or positions. We care about the future of Poland and Poland. For us, position issues are secondary
– he emphasized.
According to the PiS parliamentarian, every additional week increases the division among the opposition parties.
In no time they will eat each other to such an extent that there will be nothing left to collect
– he said.

“It will be more of a bulldog fight under the carpet.”
When asked on Monday whether he agreed with the statement that if the opposition forms a government, we will face a “positional war” between the president and the Sejm and Senate in the next two years, Fogiel replied:
It will be more of a bulldog fight under the rug, and at some point the rug will be pulled down. There is no program coherence among the opposition. The only thing they have in common is their hatred of Law and Justice. This is not enough to create good public policy and an efficient, collaborative government.
If they have not managed to draw up a joint list, they have not yet started the coalition negotiations, and they are already discussing and we hear that it may not be a coalition, but a joint statement.
– he said.
Fogiel said the opposition’s desire to take power as quickly as possible stems from the fact that “they know that the divisions are increasing every week and that in no time they will eat each other so much that there will be nothing left to gather fall.”
I would focus on that instead of Mr. President
– added.
He indicated that the president would defend “fundamental issues” related, among other things, to: social programs introduced by the PiS government, as well as issues related to development investments and defense.
The president is unlikely to compromise on this issue
– he assessed.
When asked whether early elections could be expected if the opposition took power, he said such a situation could not be ruled out.
It can be assumed that sooner or later cracks will appear there. We must remember that the desire for power and the unwillingness to engage in political competition, combined with the fact that PiS will regain power and the desire to make amends after years spent in opposition, can be a very strong bond.
– he concluded.
