On October 16, Marcin Wolski, a writer, publicist and, for the past decade, creator of the satirical program “W Tye Vision” spoke at the Ronin Club:
We won everything. We offered this society more than we could have dreamed of and created – sorry, I say this as an accomplice – propaganda at a worse level than in the 1970s (I can’t remember the 1980s). This nation was simply humiliated. Just propaganda that has been doing the rounds in recent months… I was suspended because at one point, six months ago (…) I did not fit into this line of harsh attacks, while in my program “Behind the Vision “, I tried to warm up, I tried to attract people, I was happy that among my 800,000 viewers there were people from different parts of the world, I tried to connect them.
Let’s shed some light on some inconsistencies. Why doesn’t Wolski remember the 1980s? Because it was during Gierek’s time that he had his own satirical program on the radio for 8 years. Why is he complicit? Because he is the author of the program (also lasting 8 years) ‘Back in the vision’. However, it is not true that editor Wolski has been suspended for the past six months ‘because he did not fit within the hard line’. According to my information, it was about completely different, prosaic matters, so let the creator of the legendary “Polish Zoo” not mock the friendly face of the independence camp. And in this vein, there are also words that “In So Much Vision” was a warming message (who? what?) – it was like other programs on public television, albeit in a satirical version.
There is no need to explain that this fragment of the statement is quoted triumphantly by all enemies of the right, including old communists (since Gierek’s time).
In “Gazeta Polska Everyday”, Marcin Wolski explained that he reacted emotionally due to “despair from defeat”.
I apologize if my emotional statement in the Ronin Club offended, offended or hurt anyone.
There was no mention of propaganda in the apology, so we don’t know if it took place in the last six months or not.
But the point is different. For eight years, the independence camp fought democratically for its vision of Poland: sovereign, strong, with minimal foreign influence, left-wing and liberal. If, after losing, a person suddenly feels that he has been part of something inappropriate, let him at least leave this battlefield – the battle at this stage of defeat. he will go down with his head held high. With a shield. It is not right for us to cry and wipe our tears on our sleeves. What would be missing is that Minister Ziobro would proclaim that he has always been a supporter of Iustitia, that Minister Rafalska would declare himself an enemy of ‘subsidies’ and that Minister Macierewicz would call the Territorial Defense Forces ‘militias’. To quote the classic: let us not be like “the generals of recent wars / whine on their knees before posterity / praise their heroism / and innocence / accuse subordinates / jealous colleagues / unfriendly winds /”.
Let us not descend to the level of the opposition’s opportunists and procrastinators.
