“Instead of doing certain things, our government starts lying and misinforming the president. I’m not saying this is a tradition so you can show yourself at your best. But I’m afraid that lying will become a tradition in Belarus. We will not be able to hold the country when we look in a striking mirror. And whatever strategic plans we have, we will not give it new impetus,” Lukashenko said at a meeting with representatives of the Belarusian Council of Ministers.
He added that he would not publicly disclose the names of officials involved in distorting information, but would give examples in the closed portion of the meeting. Lukashenko emphasized that similar actions were carried out by some governors and ministers.
