The Senate elections were very exciting. There were many districts where there was intense fighting and the differences between the candidates were relatively small. This was the case with the successes of three PiS candidates: Grzegorz Bierecki, Marek Pęk and Krzysztof Bieńkowski.
Senator Bierecki’s success
The previous senator, Grzegorz Bierecki, supported by PiS, was re-elected as senator in district No. 17, which included Biała Podlaska and the provinces of Biała Podlaska, Radzyński and Parczewski (Lubelskie) – according to data from the National Electoral Commission of all district committees. Bierecki achieved 53.74 percent. to vote.
The National Electoral Commission published on its website data from all 284 district election commissions in Senate District No. 17. 71,167 voters (53.74%) voted for Bierecki.
His rival was Biała Podlaska district councilor Marek Sulima (Trzecia Droga), who received 61,250 votes (46.26%).
Bierecki is 60 years old and has been in the Senate since 2011. He does not belong to any political party, he is supported by PiS. He is co-founder of Cooperative Savings and Credit Associations (SKOK) in Poland.
In the years 1992–2012 he was chairman of the National Cooperative Savings and Credit Union (SKOK) in Sopot, and in the period 2012–2014 he was chairman of the Supervisory Board. He has been chairman of the Supervisory Board of SKOK since 1996. F. Stefczyk. Since 2008 he has been chairman of SKOK Holding SARL in Luxembourg. From 2001 to 2013 he served as Vice Chairman and from 2013 to 2015 as Chairman of the World Council of Credit Unions Inc. (World Council of Credit Unions) in Madison (USA).
Marek Pęk won by a hair’s breadth
Marek Pęk (PiS) won the Senate elections in district No. 31, obtaining 43.93%. votes – according to the National Electoral Commission data of all district committees in this district. 41.85% of voters voted for Grzegorz Małodobry (KO). voters.
Data from all 441 district committees in Senate constituency No. 31, covering the following provinces: Kraków, Miechów and Olkusz, shows that Marek Pęk (current Senate Deputy Chairman) received 112,571 votes, and Grzegorz Małodobry received 107,235 votes. In the 2019 elections, Pęk had 122,468 votes (57.35%).
The remaining candidates received: Wiesław Bator (KW Wolni i Solidarni) 20,063 (7.83%), Wojciech Ozdoba (KW Nowa Democracy – Yes) – 16,357 (6.38%) votes.
Jackowski’s defeat in the clash with the PiS candidate
The Senate election in District No. 39 (Mazovia Voivodeship) is won by KW PiS candidate Krzysztof Bieńkowski, who won 47.25%. votes, among three candidates – according to data published by the National Electoral Commission on Monday, with 100 percent voting precincts in this district.
According to data from the National Electoral Commission, Krzysztof Bieńkowski of the PiS Electoral Commission out of all 316 voting districts in District No. 39 in the Senate elections won 80,567 votes – 47.25%. In turn, Jan Maria Jackowski of KWW Jan Maria Jackowski received 71,404 votes – 41.88%. The third candidate, Gabriel Janowski of the Union of Christian Families, received 18,539 votes – 10.87%.
Constituency No. 39 in the Senate elections includes the following provinces: Ciechanów, Mława, Płońsk, Przasyn and Zurmoński.
