Centrist candidate Daniel Noboa won the early presidential elections in Ecuador. His opponent, Luisa Gonzalez, from the left Civil Revolution movement, admitted defeat. This was reported by RIA News.
Noboa, the son of one of the country’s richest entrepreneurs, received 52.29 percent of the votes and Gonzalez received 47.71 percent after processing 90.23 percent of the votes. Diana Atamaint, head of the country’s Central Election Commission, said that the data obtained was already irreversible.
Gonzalez acknowledged Noboa’s victory and said he was ready to congratulate him personally.
At just 35 years old, Noboa will be the youngest president in Ecuador’s history.
