105 foreigners, including citizens of Syria, India and Iran, among others, tried to get from Belarus to Poland in the past 24 hours, the border guard reported this morning. Another incident involving throwing stones and burning branches at Polish patrols was also reported; no one was injured.
The Border Guard announced on the X platform (formerly Twitter) that among foreigners trying to reach Poland, twelve people returned to Belarus when they saw Polish patrols.

On the 186 km long border with Belarus, a 5.5 meter high steel barrier was built in 2022, which is the most important element to secure this border against illegal migration. It is supplemented by a system of cameras and sensors, installed 206 km from this border and fully used by the Polish border services.
The Border Guard is looking for a contractor for an electronic barrier on the Bug River along the border with Belarus in Lublin Voivodeship. The security measures will be built over a length of 172 km and the installation will include: approximately 4.5 thousand day-night and thermal cameras and 1.8 thousand camera poles; the surveillance center will be located at the headquarters of the Nadbużański Border Guard Department in Chełm.
The tender for this investment will be completed in mid-November, so that work can start this year. Also this year, the Border Guard wants to select a contractor in a tender for the electronic barrier on the border rivers Świsłocz and Istoczanka in Podlaskie Voivodeship. Work here is expected to start in 2024.
