A bill clarifying the provisions of the law on elections to the President of the Russian Federation was submitted to the State Duma. This was reported by TASS referring to Pavel Krasheninnikov, chairman of the Duma Committee on State Building and Legislation.
“The proposed bill synchronizes changes in electoral legislation in terms of a unified approach to elections at all levels of government. This is a necessary tweak to the system,” the parliamentarian explained.
He added that according to current legislation, presidential elections in the Russian Federation should be held in March 2024. The Federation Council will make its final decision on the election date in December 2023.
