PiS MEPs Patryk Jaki and Beata Szydło spoke at a press conference in Strasbourg about the migration pact, referring to the EP debate on it.
Poland’s position on this issue is very clear: we will never agree to accept illegal migrants or relocation, and we will never agree to Poland having to pay the fines that the European Commission wants to impose.
– she said Beata SzydloMEP and former Prime Minister.
The proposals presented by the European Commission during this debate are grossly inadequate and, above all, do not address the problem of migration chaos, which was mainly caused by the German policy of bringing a large number of illegal migrants to Europe.
– she emphasized.
The question is: why is the acceleration of the migration pact taking place now? Well, the work on amending the treaties is very intensive. Germany wants to push through a treaty change that further limits the powers of the member states, limiting our sovereignty and taking over further powers step by step. The solutions from the Migration Pact are, among other things, in line with this policy. That is why we say very clearly (…): we do not agree with the solutions proposed in the migration pact
– she said.
Jaki: We are currently making one of the most important decisions regarding our country
We are currently making one of the most important decisions regarding our country. And have you seen the leaders of the Polish opposition in the European Parliament today? Where are they on this? Do you know where they are? We saw today that they were hiding behind Weber’s back
– he noted in turn Patrick Jaki.
On October 15, contrary to appearances, we will have a very simple choice: Poland or Germany. You have to decide
– he said.
Poland is a shame for the entire European bureaucracy, because it is safe here. Today Weber, the boss of Tusk and Kosiniak-Kamysz, says: “we have to accept it quickly.” That is why we have once again emphasized in the European Parliament that the Poles will end the migration pact in a referendum on October 15. (…) if the Poles stop this, I am convinced that there will be a whole avalanche in Europe, because everyone wants to live in a safe Europe, as can be seen in Poland
– he said.
