On Sunday, President Duda said in an interview with TVP Polonia that he felt joy and pride about participating in the parade.
This is a great honor for me, because no Polish president has ever participated in it, and it is the largest Polish event in the world that takes place cyclically.

For Poles living in the US, especially in New York and neighboring states, this parade is of great importance
– said the president. He added that he came to the United States specifically to participate in the 86th Pulaski Parade.

President Duda emphasized that he was repeatedly persuaded to participate in the parade and that he was repeatedly told that it was important for the Polish community in the US that the President of the Republic of Poland was with them that day.

The Pulaski Parade has been organized since 1937. It is the second and oldest ethnic parade in New York. The head of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, Piotr Gliński, had previously announced his participation in it.
