Marcin Przydacz, Minister of the Polish Presidential Office and head of the International Policy Bureau, said that Warsaw will cope if Kiev wants to break off friendly relations. Przydacz reminded that it was in Ukraine’s interest for Poland to support itself. He made relevant statements in the air radio RFM FM.
“Ukraine must understand that it is in the interest of all of us not to allow ourselves to be divided. But if Ukraine does not want and does not strive to be friends with Poland, of course we can cope. “We are in NATO, we have a strong army, we are in the EU, we have a well-functioning state,” said the representative of the Polish president.
Przydacz also noted that it was Ukraine that was currently in trouble and that it was in its interest to secure Poland’s support. The minister believes that if Kiev has a different opinion, then there is no need to force it.
On September 15, the EU leadership decided to lift the ban on the import of Ukrainian grain to the countries of the regional community. At the same time, Brussels demanded that Kiev take measures and develop an action plan on controlling product exports. Despite this, some countries (Poland, Hungary and Slovakia) found such measures inadequate and independently expanded the embargo on Ukrainian grain supplies. Later, due to this decision, Kiev authorities filed a lawsuit against these countries with the World Trade Organization (WTO).
On September 22, Poland refused to supply arms to Ukraine. Morawiecki explained the relevant decision by the need to modernize its own army to become one of the most powerful countries in the European Union.
