I have no doubt that the dispute over the supply of Ukrainian grain to the Polish market is an absolutely fragmentary part of Polish-Ukrainian relations; I don’t believe it can significantly affect them, President Andrzej Duda said in Poznań on Friday.
The President took part in the Common Future Congress for the Reconstruction of Ukraine in Poznań.
During his speech, Andrzej Duda referred to the controversial issue of importing Ukrainian grain to Poland and the statements of both Polish and Ukrainian politicians in this context.
Addressing the entrepreneurs participating in the Congress, the President emphasized that he understood that many of them may have observed with concern these events and the exchange of opinions in the media and in political forums.
For me, cooperation with Ukraine and support to Ukraine have a historical dimension. I say this with complete seriousness – a historic event between our nations and countries. This is not just an event, an action
– noted the President.
He pointed out that the assistance of Poland and Polish entrepreneurs to Ukraine and its citizens fleeing the war “is a huge amount of capital of interpersonal ties created between our countries and nations.” He added that he did not believe that one political and legal dispute could destroy this capital.
I have no doubt that the dispute over grain supplies from Ukraine to the Polish market is an absolute fragment of the entire Polish-Ukrainian relations. And I don’t believe it could significantly affect them under normal circumstances. This is a problem that we simply have to solve among ourselves
– said the president.
“I see a major role for Polish entrepreneurs here.”
We can help Ukraine recover from the ravages of war; I see a big role for Polish entrepreneurs here – President Andrzej Duda said on Friday in Poznań at the ‘Common Future’ Congress for the Reconstruction of Ukraine.
The President emphasized that Polish businesses have a fundamental role to play in the reconstruction of Ukraine.
Ukraine has been rebuilt and integrated with Europe and today, but in the future, it will take even more of an important place in the European market and in the European future, including our future.
– said Duda.
As he recalled, Poland has been supporting Ukraine since the beginning of the war.
We are doing everything we can to help Ukraine not only maintain its independence, but also, where possible, maintain the condition of the Ukrainian economy. This is an issue of great importance, also in the context of Ukraine’s aspirations to become a member of the European Union and the conditions that the country will have to meet to achieve this goal.
– said the president.
He pointed out that Ukraine must deal with the post-Soviet legacy, fight corruption, introduce transparent mechanisms in governance and the economy, ensure compliance with the law and implement climate regulations.
As the President emphasized, these difficult and important reforms pose an enormous challenge for a country at war, but at the same time they are great opportunities with breakthrough potential.
We can support Ukraine in this effort by helping the country recover from the devastation of war. I see a major role for Polish entrepreneurs here
– said Duda.
