Confederation leaders Sławomir Mentzen and Krzysztof Bosak spoke at a meeting in Poznań on Friday about the need to abolish ZUS and reform the tax and healthcare systems. Mentzen invited Ryszard Petru, who was present at the rally, to the stage. I do not sign for a coalition with PiS, Mentzen stated.
Sławomir Mentzen emphasized that the history of PiS is such that this party has always destroyed its coalition partners. “In the future I don’t want to end up like Lepper, like Giertych, like Gowin – or, as I hope, Ziobro. I do not sign for a coalition with PiS,” he stated. Krzysztof Bosak said the Confederation is “society’s self-defense response to the removal of freedom, money and opportunities to build prosperity on our own.”
Mentzen vs. Peter
Ryszard Petru, invited to the stage, asked Mentzen if he was still in favor of the liquidation of ZUS. “Of course ZUS must be abolished as soon as possible. This is a big financial pyramid,” Mentzen replied.
Petru invited the leader of the Confederation for a debate.
After what I saw here, I don’t even want to kill a fly in the toilet with you. We will not debate. Because I agreed to the debate, you had the opportunity to return to politics. Thanks to me, you’re on the list, and instead of appreciating it, you clung to it like Velcro to a dog’s tail. You follow me all over Poland, you talk about me in every interview, I don’t understand it at all
Mentzen replied.
Sławomir Mentzen emphasized that Polish politics needs change; A confederation will be one such change.
POPiS has been ruling Poland for 18 years. I’m tired of them, fed up with what they’ve done to this country. We do not have a normal pension system. We don’t have a normal healthcare system. We have a system where, as everyone has seen, in Tarnobrzeg a woman hit the window with a stick to get a referral to a specialist. This specialist will see her in three years. If they put her in the hospital, she will lie somewhere in the hallway, and for food they will give her a cutlet from a fifth-grade dog, ground together with the kennel, because this is the food they give in hospitals
– he said.
Mentzen also calculated that the budget for food for a Pole in the hospital is more than 20 PLN, and that “the cost of living for a Ukrainian is 40 PLN.”
The cost of maintaining a child in a foster family is lower than the cost of maintaining a Ukrainian. Why don’t Polish taxpayers’ taxes go primarily to Poles, but only to visitors? We don’t have a normal tax system; we have the worst tax system in the European Union. Who came up with the idea of using 10 different flat rates? Why does a vet pay different taxes than a doctor, and he pays different taxes than a lawyer, and he pays different taxes than an engineer?
– said the leader of the Confederation.
Poland in the EU according to the Confederation
Krzysztof Bosak emphasized that Poland must pursue an independent policy in the European Union.
Poland should also pursue an independent migration and visa policy, based on its own recognition of its interests. It cannot be that this is being imposed on us by someone. That we will have some quota of people sent from abroad to accept, otherwise we will have to pay to avoid the obligation
– he said.
Bosak noted that the Confederacy is the only one that has the courage to raise difficult, unpopular issues.
There are many things we have to fight for. These are economic issues, these are issues of civil rights, these are issues of defending what is left of Polish independence in the EU. These are issues of freedom of expression and normal, healthy debate
– he said.
The Confederacy is a response to stupidity. The Confederation is a self-defense response of society to the taking away of freedom, to the taking of money, to seizing opportunities to build prosperity for ourselves. Confederation is society’s response to the transformation of us all into some sort of annexation of the government. We don’t want that. We are citizens who want to live as free people in an independent country – that’s all
– Krzysztof Bosak added.
