German CDU MEP Michael Gahler said that if the PO returns to power after October’s elections in Poland, the new government will accept the migration pact imposed by Brussels. And this is what these elections will be about – Marek Pęk (PiS), Deputy President of the Senate, wrote on social media.
According to the online television portal TVP Info, Michael Gahler, Member of the European Parliament from the German CDU (which is part of the EPP), stated in an interview for radio Deutschlandfunk that after the elections, Poland, governed by the PO, would re-accept the imposed migration pact . through Brussels.
It is possible that a new government will be formed in Poland in October. I hope that my political friends and their coalitions will pursue a different policy. I remember in 2015, shortly before PiS came to power, there was an agreement on the deployment of 165,000 migrants. The government of the day accepted several thousand people. This means that politically it does not depend on the country itself, but on the specific party that governs in Poland. Just like in Hungary, but in Poland there will be elections soon
– said the German politician.
