“The subject we discussed in 2015, the citizens’ referendum, is of great importance. I encourage everyone to go to the referendum; we really need to mobilize and express our will. Each authority will have to take this into account when the referendum is binding,” said Elżbieta Zielińska, PiS MP, formerly Kukiz’15, in an interview with the wPolityce.pl portal.
wPolityce.pl: How do you feel next to Paweł Kukiz, even if you are not in the same constituency, but you return to the electoral lists, including from PiS?
Elizabeth Zielinska: I’m glad we’re back in the same place. Especially since the subject we discussed in 2015, namely the citizens’ referendum, is of great importance. I encourage everyone to go to the referendum; we really need to mobilize and express our will. Each authority will have to take this into account when the referendum becomes binding. Our security on the eastern border, illegal immigration, retirement age or national wealth are key issues for Poland’s future.
What are you fighting for in your constituency? How do you rate your chances compared to the competition?
In my district, which includes the districts of Nowy Sącz, Gorlice, Limanowski and Podhale, I have been fighting transport exclusion for years. The government’s decision will be to restart the Gorlice-Zagórzany ramp, but much remains to be done. I hope that creating a perspective to connect us with the highway, both from Tarnów and through Carpatia, is within reach. And for this, I think, we must fight for the land of Gorlice. To be sure, the work on Sądeczanka and Podłęże-Piekiełko, which has already been financed, needs to be accelerated, but the formalities are taking a long time and I understand the impatience of the residents.
How do you rate the shape of the PiS lists versus the KO lists?”
I can compare the list especially in my constituency. And I am convinced that our victory will take place with a very good result. We have a strong team, highly experienced and diverse candidates, who have been present in the region for many years, working for Małopolska, members of parliament and local government officials. We are going for a third term for Law and Justice.
Will PiS’ lead in the polls last and turn into an election win? What will decide?
The advantage will not only be maintained, but I think it will increase as soon as further proposals for Poland’s development are presented. For us, the priority is to continue to support the family and its safety. Not only militarily, but also socially, so that the development of Poland proceeds in a sustainable manner. The opposition just hates proposals, but Poland expects specific details and we present them, and after winning the elections we will implement them.
