I hope we will keep the number of deputies in Warsaw and fight for the Senate, as admits in an interview with PAP the Deputy Marshal of the Sejm, Małgorzata Gosiewska, who has moved from second place on the PiS lists in the capital to the power is. The head of the PiS in Warsaw, Jarosław Krajewski, hopes that the outcome of his list will contribute to the party’s success in the country.
On Saturday, Law and Justice presented letters to the Sejm in each of the constituencies. The list in Warsaw is opened by the Minister of Culture, Piotr Gliński, the “two” are the Deputy Speaker of the Sejm, Małgorzata Gosiewska, the third place is taken by the Government’s Plenipotentiary for the Disabled, Paweł Wdówik, the fourth – Member of Parliament Paweł Lisiecki, and the fifth place is for the head of the Warsaw party structure, Jarosław Krajewski.
“A woman who is not afraid of anything
Małgorzata Gosiewska was presented by the leader of the Warsaw list as “a woman who is not afraid of anything”.
In an interview with PAP, Gosiewska estimates that the PiS list in Warsaw is very strong. “It represents candidates specializing in very different fields, but also representing different parts of Warsaw. I am confident that anyone who wants to bet on Law and Justice will find a candidate close to him on our list,” she said.
I’m glad I’m on this list. (…) I am grateful to Prime Minister Gliński for such a beautiful presentation of my work – short but very specific, concise and largely characteristic, as I am known for not being afraid of difficult challenges, including the most difficult, including the presence in areas where armed conflicts take place: the real conflicts, which are not fabricated by the opposition
she stressed.
In the 2019 elections, Law and Justice won six parliamentary seats in Warsaw, but failed to introduce a senator.
When the deputy marshal of the Sejm was asked what result her formation is counting on in the capital, he replied:
We hope to preserve this parliamentary state. We will, of course, fight for the Senate.
We are currently thinking about local government elections hence the presence of our local government officials on the lists
point them out.
I believe that their involvement will contribute to the best possible result in Warsaw, but will also help us win back Warsaw in the local government elections. Everything is possible. It depends on the confidence of the citizens of Warsaw. I believe that confidence will be there
she added.
Strong names
The head of Warsaw’s PiS Jarosław Krajewski, who is running from fifth place, also draws attention to the strong names on the Warsaw PiS list in an interview with PAP.
In the last election we had the support of over 370,000 voters in the Warsaw district, but it is worth recalling that it was over 300,000 votes in Warsaw alone
– he said.
We assume that we as Law and Justice, also from the district of Warsaw, will contribute to the victory throughout the country
– added. Krajewski, who was asked to repeat the 2019 result, replied: “Today we are not anticipating the number of seats won. We count on the strong support of the citizens of Warsaw, but also of Poles who vote outside our country.”
He also referred to the party’s candidates for the Senate, namely local government officials Wojciech Zabłocki, Alicja Żebrowska and Michał Grodzki and the chief inspector of road transport Alvin Gajadhur.
Our candidates know Warsaw very well, because they are people who have been associated with the capital for many years. Three of our candidates are people who have been dealing with the government of Warsaw for many years and they are people who know Warsaw much better than the Platforma Obywatelska candidates
said Krajewski.
Our local government officials plus a security expert give us a good team and fight for every vote in Warsaw
– He admitted.
Our goal is to get as much support as possible from the citizens of Warsaw and show what PiS has done for the citizens of Warsaw
– added.
Parliamentary elections will be held on October 15; Poland will elect 460 deputies and 100 senators for four-year terms.
