Russia’s peacekeeping operation in Transnistria is an element of stability. This statement was reportedly made by the head of the unrecognized Pridnestrovian Republic of Moldavia (PMR), Vadim Krasnoselsky. TASS.

“We must not forget that the Russian Federation carries out a peacekeeping mission here in Transnistria,” he said.

Krasnoselsky recalled that Russia “has its own international jurisdiction.” According to him, all the mechanisms of the peacekeeping operation have been activated today, and this is an element of stability.

The PMR leader pointed out that threats have been present for “33 years” since Pridnestrovie’s establishment, but these risks have increased in the current “complex geopolitical situation”.

Krasnoselsky stressed that Pridnestrovie “was never aggressive”. Since the founding of the republic on September 2, 1990, the authorities have been doing everything “in the name of peace”.

In May, PMR Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev announced that the Russian peacekeeping contingent will continue to fulfill Duties in Transnistria, even if Moldova withdraws from the agreement on the peaceful settlement of the conflict.
