The Belarusian State Border Committee announced on Friday that an Mi-24 helicopter belonging to the Polish Armed Forces was about to violate Belarus’ airspace. The machine would move at a “very low altitude”, penetrate the country’s territory for a distance of about 1,200 meters and then return to Poland. The incident took place in the Brzostowice region (district) of the Grodno region, Reuters and AFP reported, citing a statement from the Belarusian Border Committee. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Minsk stated that it had summoned the Chargé d’Affaires of the Republic of Poland in Belarus in connection with the incident and asked the Polish side to launch an investigation into the incident.
