A former member of the Monetary Policy Council and adviser to Donald Tusk again decided to treat the Poles with his economic “golden” thoughts. This time Bogusław Grabowski stated in an interview with “Newsweek” that Law and Justice confused the Poles, making us “claimers”. But it doesn’t stop there.
Criticism of military spending
Grabowski stated that the spending on the military is “unprecedented” and we don’t know the magnitude of it. According to him, “we do not know what amounts we owe and under what terms”, and this is “fundamental to our financial security”.
As an economist, I point out that we will be spending horrendous amounts of money; spending will rise from 2 percent to 2 percent. up to 4 percent GDP – and we don’t know for how long. Society sees the war beyond our borders and intuitively senses that a lot of effort will be put into it
– said Grabowski, who also stated that the government does not make Poles aware of the needs of the army and what sacrifices this entails for the citizens. He added that citizens will either have to “tighten their belts” or the government will have to change policies to make the economy grow faster – “then we can afford to fund military spending.”
Can’t afford social programs?
But Grabowski did not stop at criticizing the reinforcement of the Polish army and, consequently, the security of Poland. It also affected the reduction of the PIT tax from 17 to 12 percent, as this is “an additional cost to the budget,” as well as subsidies for electricity, gas and coal, and social programs.
And when it looked like we had already reached the peak of the budget, Kaczyński comes out again and raises 500+ to 800+. And then it introduces a permanent annual payment of the 14th pension. Incidentally, he is mistaken and instead of the gross amount he states that it will be PLN 2,200 net, which means an additional cost item of PLN 9 billion from the budget. It is absolutely impossible that our lives will have to adjust to the level of these huge expenses
– Grabowski joked, threatening that the Polish economy is slowing twice as fast as the global economy, saying that “all we can afford is social manipulation”.
Grabowski also argued that PiS is lying when it says that the money for spending is in the budget because the VAT gap is limited. According to him, “the effectiveness of VAT collection was influenced by a very good economic situation” and “handling of payment card transactions”, as this “reduced the possibilities for abuse”.
Tusk’s advisor also stated that faster economic development of Poland is also impossible, because PiS “undermined” all factors conducive to it. To this list he also added Poland’s ‘argument’ with the EU, and with it the blockade of funds from the KPO and the poor relations with key partners and the ‘politicization of the economy’.
This government has dramatically reduced our future development opportunities
Grabowski dramatized.
Grabowski on “a crime against society”
The former member of the MPC added to his dark visions that for ten years PiS had rejected the chance that the Polish economy would enter the path of development and that society was not prepared for it.
This is a crime against society. (…) It is I who want to say that the next crime of Kaczyński is the division of society into two parts, both of which are demanding: the part that has become accustomed to living on social transfers and demands its increase, and the others that don’t. pay for it and demand lower taxes.(…) Costs will rise dramatically. And even worse, they will overlap with others (…). That will be the biggest problem PiS created a social barrier against change, because it confused the minds of the Poles and we became claimants
said Grabowski.
According to him, if the future prime minister tells the “truth” about what lies ahead in his statement, “we will lose”, because “we have become hostages of people who manipulate public opinion, knowingly or unknowingly deceive and weaken us.” . .
We are a society of special importance. This is the only answer to the question of people of the West and of the world: what happened to us. (…) The most important thing is to get the media back, so that they stop lying and manipulating, then the world will start to change
Tusk’s adviser argued.
He also added that the referendum questions are evidence that Law and Justice have failed to reach conclusions, and that the settlement questions asked at Tusk’s rallies should prove that society wants to talk. He stated that a “political civil war” is raging in Poland, which will be resolved within two months.
The opposition economic guru is once again promoting the real program Donald Tusk is running for election: liquidate and privatize. Grabowski, like the head of PO, insults Poland and PiS voters. It’s scary to think what Tusk and his henchmen will do to the military in times of war abroad, if the opposition wins the election. In addition, the level of contempt of the ‘opposition elites’ towards ordinary Poles has skyrocketed.
