Rafał Trzaskowski’s meeting with voters in Olsztyn had an unusual fragment. The microphone was handed to a young man who complained to the mayor of Warsaw about the problems he was facing.
The young man complained about the treatment of young people by psychiatrists as… mentally ill.
Good morning, Mr. President. I don’t want Poland like a Poland where psychiatrists treat us like mentally ill. They call us the Athenians. “You cut yourself, don’t cut yourself. Problem solved.” It can’t be
– he said.
Then he complained that the school didn’t teach him…to wash. Instead, he needs to learn about metabolism and genetics.

In Poland, the construction of a slipper, plant physiology in biology, is a piece of metabolism, genetics or a quadratic function. For who is it? How I want to know how to pay ZUS, how to vote in elections. I don’t want such Poles. I want a Poland that I feel good about. I don’t want to go abroad, but I think I have to
he said.
His words were met with thunderous applause from the rally participants. Then Rafał Trzaskowski took the floor.
These are the voices, ladies and gentlemen, that I encounter almost every day on the streets of Polish cities, towns and cities. Voices full of bitterness and emotion. And what hurts me the most is that they often target the entire political class. And that is why we must do absolutely everything we can to make the young generation believe that things can be done differently. Even with child psychiatry. I promise you one thing and I want to make it clear today because I hear about child psychiatry all the time. That we will do absolutely everything and that I will talk to my friends and colleagues to make it the number one priority. Today, psychiatry and psychology, especially child psychology, must look different. Access to it must be guaranteed. Nowadays, if you want a child to see a specialist, in some places in Poland you have to wait so long that the child is no longer a child, but an adult. (…) And we know how to change it!
– said the mayor of Warsaw.
