On Friday, the head of the Ministry of National Defense, Mariusz Błaszczak, will approve offset contracts for elements for medium-range anti-aircraft and anti-missile systems in the second phase of the Wisła program, the defense ministry said.
Raytheon and Lockheed Martin
According to the ministry, thanks to compensation agreements with Raytheon and Lockheed Martin, worth a total of about PLN 1 billion, service, repair and production facilities will be created in Poland to support the Wisła system, including: with elements such as the LTAMDS radar and PAC-3 MSE missiles.
An important part of the signed agreements is the inclusion of Polish companies in the group of certified suppliers for US entities. This is not only an opportunity to make a technological leap in the production process, but also an opportunity to create new solutions in missile technologies together with partners from the United States. This will have a significant impact on the research, development and testing capabilities of Polish industry
– emphasized the Ministry of National Defense.
It was pointed out that the signing of the agreements is a continuation of the process started in the first phase of the Wisła programme.
Patriots in Poland
In March 2018, the head of the Ministry of National Defense signed a contract for the supply of two batteries of Patriot anti-aircraft and anti-missile systems as part of the Vistula Phase I. Compensation negotiations are also underway with another defense industry leader, Northrop Grumann , the agreement of which will also result in a significant technology transfer.
