“Until now we had the impression that Donald Tusk was a man from Moscow and Berlin, so now we see that he has a twin brother or maybe a younger brother. Kołodziejczak is a man who wears exactly the same clothes,” assessed Donald Tusk’s alliance with the AgroUnion leader in an interview with the wPolityce.pl portal, PiS MP Piotr Kaleta.
wPolityce.pl: Not a new, but published phenomenon on our political scene thanks to Donald Tusk, ie Michał Kołodziejczak – how would you describe him: a political villain, a usurper as a defender of peasant interests, a Russian agent … ?
Peter Callet: To say Kołodziejczak “a crook” is to appreciate him. This is a term that sometimes hides someone who is really nice, who can be nice. And Kolodziejczyk is just a traitor. Find and add different adjectives to him? It is impossible to find them. This is a man who should simply be chased out of Polish politics.
How does it compare to Donald Tusk?
Until now we had a strange impression that Donald Tusk was a man from Moscow and Berlin, so now we see that he has a bit of a twin brother, or maybe a younger brother. Kołodziejczak is a man who dresses exactly the same.
You could be ironic about Kołodziejczak, but the problem is that this man treacherously deceived the Polish peasants, deceived the Polish countryside – people who for some reason could or could be dissatisfied with their situation, with this or other state decisions. Kołodziejczak brutally and viciously used their dissatisfaction for his own interests. I am disgusted with such people and any normal Pole should be disgusted with someone like Kołodziejczak. That is all that can and should be said about it. I don’t think it’s even worth talking about.
So why do you think such a man was on the electoral lists of the Civic Coalition?
It must be said that he fits the Civic Platform. Let’s take into account that now he will only overcome the bad emotions that are already there. He’s good at this.
It turned out that only Tusk was needed for this?
Tusk gathers such people around him to try and get someone on board that no one else wanted. For him, every character at the moment is an added value that can be useful to him, or at least it won’t hurt. Please note: the KO electoral lists are not yet closed. I wouldn’t be surprised if Prof. Jan Hartman or other people who are totally beyond us at this point but do fit into Tusk’s head.
However, PO voters see everything, they see this political misery. What is Tusk counting on?
I’ve already said it: he hopes that there might still be a niche among the voters somewhere, somewhere where – counting on his iron electorate, which will vote for him against all odds – he could get a few percent extra votes. To at least try to fight for a better election result.
And the second is that now Donald Tusk will try to surround himself with new people who – in terms of relations with him – will create a new, but not better quality, that they will be rewarded for certain things – immunity or even noticing them and appreciate them – thankfully. Tusk wants to get rid of the old guard, who have grown too big for him.
People like Schetyna, Grupiński or Kidawa-Błońska?
Tusk knows very well that if he loses the election, the people who can do politics within Civic Platform will throw themselves at his throat. He must pacify them, remove them from the PO ranks.
And by the way – if Kidawa-Błońska were the crème de la crème of the Civic Platform, she would be a candidate for the presidency, and we all remember what she said about digging the Vistula spit, that nature does not want it , this proves – as Marek Belka himself said – about hopelessness and intellectual emptiness in PO. And I would add that there is also a patriotic void in his ranks.
Finally, returning to Kołodziejczak – Internet users are still looking for proof of how “old Kołodziejczak” anti-platformer was, he talked about “thirty years of idleness” by Tusk and Trzaskowski. When will he no longer be needed – Tusk will retaliate and “eat him for dinner”?
Naturally. Tusk is not a man who forgets. I don’t think Tusk will “throw Kołodziejczak at the throat” at the right time. They have too much in common. He – once he uses Kołodziejczak as a weapon against PiS – will just chase him.
