27 thousand people have signed up as part of the citizens’ coalition for the campaign of citizens’ control in elections “I am watching elections” – said deputy head of the PO, Warsaw Mayor Rafał Trzaskowski, Friday in Łomża (Podlaskie). The politician also announced that in connection with Ms. Joanna’s case, recommendations will be made to doctors in Warsaw “so that they know how to behave in such a situation, because it is the doctor who should be close to the patient, not a state official.”
PO promotes its campaign to “look at the elections”
Trzaskowski, together with KO MPs: Sławomir Nitras, Krzysztof Truskolaski and Robert Tyszkiewicz, advertised their campaign for citizen control of the autumn parliamentary elections at the Old Market Square in Łomża.
For us it is extremely important to ensure that the upcoming elections are completely free and fully democratic and to ensure that the elections are monitored
said Trzaskowski. He stressed that Poland is a democratic country because it has a “strong civil society” and people voluntarily watch over the elections.

Joanna’s case
Trzaskowski said 27,000 people have signed up so far as part of the Civic Coalition campaign. citizens throughout Poland. He thanked those who did.
These choices are whether we can still live in a free state where the state is there to support citizens, or whether we will live in a state where state officials, police officers, will be used primarily to interfere with our freedom
– said Trzaskowski, referring to the actions of police officers in one of Krakow’s hospitals against a woman who ended up in the emergency room there after taking a failed pill. Trzaskowski said that the “PiS authorities” may soon send police officers to other places, and therefore – as he noted – “the stake of this election is our personal freedom.”
He also said that he had made recommendations to doctors in Warsaw so that, as he stressed, “they would know how to behave in such a situation”.
Because it’s the doctor who needs to be close to the patient, close to the patient, not a government official
– added the Civic Platform politician.

The PO threatens to manipulate the elections
Trzaskowski said the Civic Coalition’s action was to encourage citizens to keep an eye on authorities.
We must be on every election committee, we must ensure that none of PiS officials are tempted to improperly influence the conduct of the elections, because these elections are absolutely fundamental and that is why we need citizens to help us in this process
– noted the deputy head of PO.
MP Nitras emphasized that it is important to vote in the autumn elections, but that it is also important that the votes are counted fairly.
It is important that when the nation expresses itself, how people vote, their votes should be counted, their votes should be counted fairly, there should be no pressure in committees about who votes how, we all have the right to cast a secret ballot (…) we have to watch the elections because otherwise they will steal from us
Nitros said.
He also said that in Łomża, as part of the election campaign, more people than necessary have volunteered. Thank you all for being so active.
