The EU has the anti-Midas knack and turns everything it touches into… Brussels moves from success to success like a drunk from fence to fence. The European Union-Latin America summit ended on Tuesday, and although it ended in defeat, even disgrace and humiliation for the EU, Commission President Ursula von der Leyen triumphantly announced:
It was a really great peak. It was a new opening in the relationship between old friends. We need eachother. These are times of great geopolitical change. And like-minded friends like us should stick together. We have achieved good results.
– Timmermans lays down his seat in Brussels! Vice-President of the European Commission: The Netherlands is facing gigantic challenges, eg climate crisis
– Trump revealed what he would do to Ukraine if he were in power. It heralds a fairytale “agreement in one day”, but something else is more important
Nobody knows what the good results of the top are, but that doesn’t matter. They were not even able to issue a clear statement condemning Russia’s attack on Ukraine. The sides expressed some concern about the ongoing war, but the document does not even mention who attacked. The word Russia does not appear once. There is nothing strange about this, because Latin America, ruled by leftist and even leftist governments, is still under the spell of bloody Russia and under its influence. The leaders there, like the scandalous president of Brazil – Lula, swarm that the heirs of the Soviet Union fight against imperialism. Only Chilean President Gabriel Boric openly condemned Russia’s attack on Ukraine.
Signed documents are just words, but Von der Leyen’s infantile propaganda statement about the historic summit, and above all “a new opening between old friends” there can be a lot of truth. Latin American countries just demanded money from the EU for being too hot. It sounds ridiculous, but it’s a very wise move. If the European Union has corrupted the climate with its burning of CO2, or whatever, if it has warmed the earth, make them pay compensation now. And let him compensate for colonialism.
Let’s stick with the climate madness. Latin America is doubly right. Here, under the influence of climate fanatics or something, the EU wants to provide goods from Latin America with a kind of eco-certificates, so that human rights and environmental issues are taken into account in mutual trade agreements
For us Greens, protecting human rights and preventing environmental crime are priorities. Therefore, we must pay particular attention to preventing human rights violations and environmental degradation associated with the mining sector
– says Anna Cavazzini, a German MEP of the Greens.
Meanwhile, Latin American leaders, led by Brazil’s president, are demanding that the EU abandon its green protectionist policies. Lula openly says that the Union’s demands pose a threat to Latin America. Brazil and the rest of the continent are not interested in Europe’s climate obsessions. Action is a symbol and an example Wow Brazil – “Fly to Brazil.” A special program with discounts on cheap flights is designed to attract hundreds of thousands of tourists from America and Europe to the country. It should also provide communication in Brazil, which has a larger area than the EU. Meanwhile, lunatics cling to airport runways in Germany.
European paranoia may prevent the EU from making an agreement with the southern common market organization – Mercosur, which includes Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay, Venezuela (suspended). Chile, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia are associated. Together they form a free trade zone.
As an economic partner, the European Union lags far behind other powers. Ursula von der Leyen praises the top and announces that EU countries will invest “as much as” 45 billion euros in Latin America. On the scale of continents, it is a value for “cotton”. Foreign investment in Poland amounted to little more than in 2022 – $ 30 billion. Latin America is the second largest investment destination in the world after China. In 2022, it attracted $160 billion. Companies worth $322 billion withdrew from the EU. The EU is also losing its importance as a trading partner of Latin America – it ranks third after the United States and China. Trade between the Union and CELAC – Community of Latin American and Caribbean States was worth €369 billion in 2022. And between China and CELAC, trade was up 11%. and amounted to 437 billion euros.
Latin America did not take Europe seriously, the most telling example being its refusal to condemn Russia. It cannot be ruled out that this not only stems from ideological motives – totalitarian leftist tendencies and fascination with the Soviet Union – but also has a purely practical and economic background. It is a difference of opinion with protectionism, but also with the protectionism of the Union. Brazil and its largest mining company, Petrobas, want to explore oil deposits in the Amazon in peace and quiet and they do not need to ask permission from Brussels. Following the path of the Union would mean leaving South America in poverty and underdevelopment. Without oil extraction, Venezuela will have no chance of getting out of the misery into which the left-wing regime has driven it.
If Europe wants to interfere, dictate how other countries should run their economies, make them pay for their arrogance. Conclusion: you have destroyed our climate, paying compensation is very wise. If we use the logic of climate activists, it is actually difficult to find arguments for refusing such reparations.
Everywhere we look – even at distant and exotic matters, such as relations between the European Union and the CELAC states – we see weakness, but also the arrogance and pride of the Eurocracy, the misery of policies based on ideological miasma. Be it multiculturalism, climate, genderism, LGBTQRSM+ and what else. Brussels leads us from failure to failure, and not to successes, as the rulers of the Union proclaim.
