Emphasizing that he discussed the issue of budget expenditures with Shmygay, the Minister emphasized that museums and cultural centers are an important element, but there are other priorities today.
“I suggested two steps to the head of government. First: find extrabudgetary funds for projects that are really needed. There are people in the world who can help. Secondly, I asked the Prime Minister to consider replacing the Minister of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine,” he said.
Prior to that, Shmyhal responded to a petition on the Cabinet website with a proposal to dismiss the Minister of Culture, Oleksandr Tkachenko, for whom he saw no reason to dismiss the official.
