The Netherlands is one of those countries where the problems and even pathologies of Western liberal democracy can be seen through a lens. This is evident not only from the resignation of Prime Minister Mark Rutte, but also from a number of minor events that only apparently do not have the same meaning as the fall of the cabinet.

Ruth’s resignation
Let’s start with the resignation of “Teflon Marek”, as Prime Minister Rutte is called because of his exceptional resistance to affairs and scandals. Does it change anything and is it really important? Maybe, maybe not, who knows. Rutte is an experienced prime minister. Times change, successive governments fall and he has been at the head of government in successive configurations since 2010 – that’s the correct term. Even PSL could learn the art of maneuvering and power welding from him. This is the fourth puzzle in which he is the head of government. Moreover, Rutte still heads minority cabinets. Minority government is already a permanent part of the European political landscape. In Belgium this is actually the norm. France, Spain and Sweden also have cabinets that do not have the mandate of the majority of the citizens.
There will be snap elections in the Netherlands in October, and it may turn out that it doesn’t matter which party wins them, as Rutte can lead any government he chooses. Let a few experts spin fortunes in the nuances of Dutch politics, while making expert opinions, as the saying goes: always Nowak anyway. That’s Ruth. Although he announced that after leading the People’s Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD) for 17 years and being prime minister for 13 years, he would retire from politics and teach children at school what democracy is, but that cannot be certain. are.
So far, current Justice Minister Dilan Yesilgoz-Zegerius, who is from Turkey and was born in Ankara, wants to take over his legacy. However, autumn is far away and Rutte may change his mind. Especially since he already did it once – in 2021 after the child support scandal. When it turned out that the Tax Office wrongly accused many families of extortion, he and his government resigned, and after 2 months, after the VVD had won the elections, he led a new cabinet. Opinions have already appeared that the current dismissal is, in fact, a procedure like two years ago – purely tactical. It is about mobilization, about preventing growing support for the Farmers-Citizens Movement (BBB), only founded in 2019, which won the local elections in March on the wave of protests against the forced liquidation of farms. The resignation of the Rutte cabinet is intended to prevent the BBB from having grown sufficiently by the October elections and threatening the rule of the eternal coalitions. And this would be the real reason for the early elections, not differences in the coalition over immigration policy.
Nevertheless, the problem is obviously serious, because in 2022 alone, 403,000 immigrants from 18 million people came to the Netherlands – 150,000 more than the year before. The number of asylum applications submitted this year is expected to reach 70,000, breaking the record set in 2015.
Program disputes, in this case over immigration policy, are only occasionally real. Indeed, in the Netherlands the art of power comes down not so much to winning votes as to cabinet intrigue and the ability to form coalitions, in which Rutte is an unsurpassed master. Let’s see: the government is led by a politician whose party won less than 22% of the vote in the last election and has only 34 deputies in the 150-member House of Representatives. One of the coalition partners of this minority cabinet is the ChristenUnie (CU), which won only 3.3% of the vote and has 5 deputies.
Lord of all subjects of the Union and 5 percent of the Dutch
The paradoxes, or rather the pathologies of Dutch democracy, are even better illustrated by the case of the eternal Eurocrat Frans Timmermans, who would leave Brussels to head the electoral list of the Labor Party (PvdA) and the Greens. Timmermans led the socialists of the PvdA in the 2019 elections to the European Parliament, but resigned his mandate to become Vice President of the European Commission. His party won 5.7% of the vote in the Dutch elections and has 9 MEPs. This is what a democratic mandate, what a real voter support is available to the politician who invented fit for 55 and imposes on us and pushes Europe into insane climate policy. This man is not wanted in his own country, but he can decide on all issues of the European Union.
Perhaps it is the Farmers’ Movement, which has no MPs yet, that can stop the climate madness. So far, the Rutte cabinet has succeeded in brutally quieting the protests of farmers who drove their machines to Amsterdam and Brussels. We watched scenes not seen since World War II – people being hunted by dogs. This is how smiling and tolerant European democracies treat demonstrators. In the fall, they defend farmers who want to be forced to destroy their farms, leave their ancestral lands and lifestyles behind, instead of machines there must be a ballot. In the polls, the BBB receives as much support as the Rutte People’s Party. However, the problem lies in these office games across Europe. Parties like the BBB are “false”, like the Swedish Democrats, the Spanish Vox or the National Rally in France, they are isolated by the establishment, condemned to a political ghetto no matter how much support they have. The Swedish Democrats are the second political force in Sweden, just like Marine Le Pen’s party in France. So the BBB may get a lot of voters, but because of the medley of small parties, it won’t have a significant impact on politics.
The Netherlands cools the earth by 0.000036 degrees
In addition to migration policy, the main subject of the election campaign will be the climate madness introduced in the Netherlands, for which Poland is also paying. Authorities decided to forcibly liquidate 3,000 family farms to reduce animal production and nitrogen oxide and ammonia emissions. In addition to carbon dioxide and methane, these are other incorrect gases banned in Europe.
The Dutch government also receives support from the Union, which has decided to allocate 1.5 billion euros for this, to which we also contribute with our contributions. The cabinet in The Hague alone wants to allocate an extra 28 billion euros in 2030 to regulate the temperature on earth. This falls outside the forced closure of farms program. By the end of 2030, carbon dioxide emissions must be reduced by 20 million tonnes per year and a total of 80 million tonnes must be “saved” by 2030. As Minister of Climate and Energy Rob Jetten calculated and announced in the House of Representatives, this contributes to a reduction of the average global temperature by 0.000036 degrees.
The minister made these precise calculations, giving hope to humanity to save the calculations, based on the data of the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, which, in a manner known only to him, determined that the reduce carbon dioxide emissions by a trillion tons reduces the so-called. global temperature by 0.45 degrees. It is true that no one in the world knows from what temperature this 0.45 degrees is less, but that does not matter. There are trillions of dollars to spend. The proportional contribution for the Netherlands, the second largest food exporter in the world, which is about to destroy its agriculture, will be only 0.000036 degrees. Pride. The madness has progressed to the point that they – progressive, brightly lit climate fanatics are not even ashamed to present such data.
Beauty contests
The Netherlands has become world famous in recent days thanks to another event. The most beautiful woman in the country is a man named Rikkie Valerie Kolle, and now he will represent the Netherlands at the beauty pageant in El Salvador, where the Miss Universe pageant will be held. Kolle says he found out he was a girl when he was 11, and in January of this year had some surgeries to turn him into a woman. The left-wing American commentator Bill Mahler notes that children used to be lucky. If a boy wants to be a pirate, they can chop off his leg and gouge his eye out.
Officially, Kolle is not a man, but a woman. Or maybe a trans woman, or maybe a transgender person, or a transsexual woman. No one in the world knows this because no one has any idea what a trans woman entails. Is it a man who stuffed himself with hormones, cut out strategic organs and remodeled them to look like women have, or could it be a regular man, as long as he has the clearance paperwork for it. Just like Canadian powerlifting coach Avi Sllverberg, who announced he was a woman, got receipts for it and was even a woman, but only for an hour, just in time to break several national records in women’s competition.
Anyway, the beauty pageant in El Salvador is going to be exciting. I can’t wait for this Kolle man to spank the ladies – symbolically, of course. As rightly noted, the times are now such that men are better women than women themselves.
