“Gazeta Wyborcza” published a text by Dominika Wielowieyska addressed to the historian, Prof. Slawomir Cenckiewicz. The journalist argued that the historian was not just a “ruthless lustrator” and “Wałęsa’s persecutor”. Wielowieyska also accused Prof. Cenckiewicz about … a threat.
Historian in the crosshairs of Wyborcza
prof. Lately, Sławomir Cenckiewicz has often been mentioned as someone who could serve on the committee for investigating Russian influences. A documentary series with unknown documents and information about the Polish-Russian reset of 2007-2015, which Prof. Cenckiewicz is a co-author, will soon be broadcast on public television.
Now, in the weekend supplement to “Gazeta Wyborcza” – “Wolna Saturday” – Dominika Wielowieyska wrote a text that should touch the historian. There were many accusations of unreliability, overinterpretation of documents or fanaticism. Wielowieyska again raised the issue of purge, not only of Wałęsa, but also of Prof. Cenkiewicz. Wielowieyjska himself wrote about the historian that he is a “radical conservative” and that people who know him “do not want to talk about him under his name. They indicate that he is ruthless in the fight against his opponents. He brutally destroys people whom he regards as enemies.”
Radosław Sikorski, currently a member of the European Parliament, liked to talk about it in the article.
The fact that he had a grandfather in the UB feeds him. He wants to be credible in his environment, so that no one can be surpassed in radicalism. In addition, he is a conservative fundamentalist, which only fuels his fanaticism. Now this man will sit on the Inquisition Commission and rely heavily on the methods his UB grandfather used during interrogations to accuse people of spying for the US imperialists. And then Grandpa took out those suspects. Now the grandson – fortunately only politically, not physically – will eliminate Russia’s created spies
Sikorski said.
Cenckiewicz’s threat?
Wielowieyska also accused the historian of threats. It is the case of a Twitter post in which Prof. Cenckiewicz raised the case of the journalist’s sister – Agnieszka, who started working at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1991, became deputy head of the Western Europe Department in 1995 . She then became director-coordinator of the European Integration Department. In turn, she was Director of the Promotion Department from 2001-2007 and from 2008 she headed the Foreign Affairs Department in Prime Minister Donald Tusk’s Chancellery.
According to Wielowieyska, the message that the historian posted on Twitter at the time “can be treated as a threat, because the members of the commission, which blatantly violates the constitution, can accuse any citizen of anything without taking any responsibility.” It is, of course, the Commission for Investigating Russian Influence.
Profile of Prof. @Cenckiewicz. The historian recommended by Antoni Macierewicz has already shown several times what he is capable of and how reliable he is in his work. Therefore, it is possible to predict what his activity in the Russian commission will look like
– said Dominika Wielowieyska in a Twitter post, promoting her lyrics in “GW”.
Good photo! Kaczyński doesn’t like him, so he didn’t become the president of the Institute of National Remembrance. Why does Cenckiewicz get the “Russian commission” “lex Tusk”?
answered Prof. Slawomir Cenckiewicz.
In the following entry, the historian pointed out that the text is… disappointing.
I’ve read. Disappointing! Same hooks – boredom, but I recommend it because it organizes threads despite nonsense. What I like most is the theme of non-sociability and skeletality that puts off! I confirm. And greetings Mr. Wielowieyski – because they probably wrote this text together
– wrote Prof. Cenkiewicz.
Online discussion
Wielowieyska’s text also caught the attention of other Twitter users. They draw attention to a number of mistakes made by the journalist from “Gazeta Wyborcza”.
After all, this text is so embarrassing for a journalist who is considered serious, with many years of experience, that I do not …
– wrote Przemysław Misiołek.
I allowed myself to demand a bull’s-eye on @Cenckiewicz, the so-called whip of satire. Your article was addressed to uncritical admirers of your paper’s content, so of course it had to be biased. PS Cenckiewicz has the worst opinion of my views (“shameful”)
– emphasized Prof. Stanislaw Zerko.
Text full of errors “Cenckiewicz knows better than the Supervisory Board that Wałęsa was an agent” nonsense about the WSI (e.g. the Liquidation Committee was confused with the Verification Committee) Walentynowicz, Lefebvrists, etc. @DWielowieyska it was better to put the data from the biography on Wikipedia PS. PhD is a degree, not a title
– noted Michał Kozlowski.
“Wałęsa’s persecutor”, “a fierce inspector of Wałęsa and his own grandfather”. The juxtaposition with “my own grandfather” and Wałęsa is excellent. After all, Cenckiewicz’s grandfather was the president and, as an agent, has left a mark on Poland’s recent history
– wrote Tomasz Lysiak.
What nonsense is this. Although, in all, who should be afraid of the amateur Tusk Defense Front from Wyborcza if not @Cenckiewicz and his knowledge of the “reset” with Russia
– adds Piotr Pałka.
One of the best historians of the history of the People’s Republic of Poland in his generation. This was once told to me by many researchers who disagreed with the SC. Katelbach, Wałęsa, the well-described second councilor, Kuklinski. A mass of texts about the resistance of the Coast. And also normal. That’s why you have to go with him
– said Grzegorz Wszołek.
What must be in those archives that there is such a beeping? That they are so afraid?
FortiterPolityczny wondered.
