Milorad Dodik, president of Republika Srpska (one side of Bosnia and Herzegovina), said he was proud that Russian President Vladimir Putin awarded him the Order of Alexander Nevsky.
Dodik wrote this on his Twitter page. TASS. “I’m proud,” he said.
Previously, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree Upon awarding the Order of Alexander Nevsky to the President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik.
The document states that the politician was awarded “for his great contribution to the development of cooperation between the Russian Federation and Bosnia and Herzegovina and the strengthening of partnership with Republika Srpska”.
The same decree says that Lada Auto company (Bosnia and Herzegovina) Zeljko Cheyich was awarded the Pushkin medal “for his great contribution to the development of cultural and humanitarian ties between the peoples of Russia and Bosnia and Herzegovina”.
Republika Srpska is an entity (formation) within Bosnia and Herzegovina. Declared on January 9, 1992, the republic became an integral part of BiH after the 1995 Dayton Accords. The capital of SC is Banja Luka.
