Armenian Security Council Secretary Armen Grigoryan stated that Armenia’s membership in the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) is related to problems, but Yerevan does not limit its cooperation with other countries. The statement was made by Grigoryan from the Armenian publication. “Channel One”.

“Armenia’s participation in the CSTO creates certain problems, but does not limit its cooperation with different countries. “We are working intensively with Western partners to strengthen our security cooperation, and we will continue this work,” he said.

At the same time, he noted that it will be difficult to find significant CSTO assistance to Armenia after 2020.

“Since 2020, there have been three large-scale attacks by Azerbaijan against Armenia for which the CSTO has not provided any assistance to Armenia,” said the Secretary of the Armenian Security Council.

According to Grigoryan, the behavior of the CSTO is currently not serious, since the establishment of the mission to collect facts about the events in Nagorno-Karabakh was only recommended after an alternative was found in the form of an EU monitoring mission in Yerevan.
