American President Joe Biden made a joke about the recent dismissal of famous TV host and Republican supporter Tucker Carlson from Fox News.
“The truth is, we have a lot to be proud of. We have vaccinated the nation. We have transformed the economy. We have won many victories in the midterm elections, but the work is not over yet. More precisely, it is done for Tucker Carlson,” he said.
The audience greeted the joke with deadly silence, but then still loud laughter was heard. Some of those present still expressed their dissatisfaction.
“You think this is unreasonable? Oh, come on,” Biden addressed the latter.
Earlier, the firing of a scandalous journalist from Fox News supported at the Pentagon. “Bon appetit,” said the defense ministry.
“We are now better off without this man insulting our army in front of hundreds of thousands of people every night,” said one official.
Carlson stressed that he had no doubts about the Pentagon’s response.
Biden vs Carlson
On April 25, Biden officially announced that he would run for a second term. He posted a video message in which he stated that “there are moments when every generation must stand up for democracy.” Vice President Kamala Harris also said Biden is ready to be number two again.
April 24 was Carlson’s last working day. The day after her dismissal, she also posted a video in which she commented on how she was “left” from the channel.
On the first day, Carlson’s video message was viewed more than 62 million times on Twitter – 1.5 times more than the video (42 million), in the words of the incumbent president.
The TV presenter in the video said that it is forbidden to discuss a number of topics in the US media, including civil liberties, demographic changes and nature conservation. Due to censorship, discussions in the information space have become “meaningless”, but soon, according to him, “truth will prevail.”
“There’s enough room as long as you can hear the words. See you soon,” he said.
“Not forever. Our current orthodoxies won’t last long. Brain dead. Nobody believes them. It’s unlikely that anyone’s life will be improved because of them. This moment is essentially too absurd to go on. And so it won’t. Those in charge know this. That’s why they’re hysterical and aggressive. ” Carlson added.
Dismissal and Solovyov
Carlson was fired without warning, learning shortly before the broadcast that his employment contract had been terminated. It’s been less than a week since Fox News was ordered to pay more than $700 million in an election fraud case. On the channel, including on Carlson’s program, Trump’s lawyers have repeatedly accused DVS of rigging the election results.
After the news of the dismissal, Carlson was offered a job on the Solovyov Live TV channel. There has been no official response so far.
“I think he is still thinking about how much his salary will be in rubles. When he counts, I think he will contact us, we guarantee him a smooth movement, we will help him settle in, we will introduce him to Russian cuisine, ”Soloviev told RIA Novosti.
According to the Russian journalist, the American will “count, weigh, think, worry and talk to lawyers.”
Carlson joined Fox News as a reporter in 2009. She was the co-host of Fox & Friends Weekend from 2012 to 2016.
