In light of the regional elections on 28 May, the civic support platform for Generalitat Valenciana president Ximo Puig continues to expand across the province and add new supporters to the project, which encourages the continuation of a third Botànic. After previous presentations in Alicante, Orihuela and Elche in recent weeks, it was Alcoy’s turn this Friday where the independents group contacted the l’Alcoià Pensioners Coordinator and Comtat. through its spokesperson, Antonio Matarredona. “We continue to maintain a progressive government in the Community of Valencia,” said author and history researcher Gerardo Muñoz, a supporter of the civic group, after the incident in Alcoy.

The platform will continue to make promotions in different parts of the province. In this sense, without going any further, the action it was introduced will be held in Ondara next Tuesday. Another presentation is in principle scheduled for Thursday at La Vila Joiosa. The following presentations were made in Elda for April 5 and in Villena, a municipality whose date has not yet been confirmed.

Platform officials are planning to hold more specific meetings apart from these actions to introduce themselves. For example, one will be held on April 21 in Benidorm in connection with tourism. Another will be held on April 28 in Elche, where it is scheduled to address the province’s vision at the European level. They want at least half a dozen deputies from socialist, green and liberal formations to be present in this appointment. With no confirmed date, an appointment is scheduled in Orihuela that will have a different character as it will address the issues Vega Baja has, from water to residential tourism, agriculture or connectivity, among others.

The action, which will be held in Alicante at the beginning of April, will address the relationship between youth and politics. Finally, another application is planned in Alcoy where the situation of the retired and elderly population will be the central axis. The platform aims to have President Puig present while holding all these meetings.

The self-described civic group has been christened “Ximo president” and is garnering support in all parts of the state to expand its support base around the PSPV leader figure.
