White House talks about a possible meeting between Biden and Xi Jinping 21:59

White House Strategic Communications Coordinator John Kirby said the meeting between US President Joe Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping would take place at an opportune time. DEA News.

“We want to make sure that this conversation takes place at the right time and in the right context,” Kirby said.

He also noted that the Chinese leader is “pretty busy: he just finished the people’s congress and is now in Moscow”.

Biden last week declarationHe said he wanted to have another phone or video call with Xi Jinping. He answered positively to the question about possible negotiations with the Chinese leader in the near future, but did not specify when exactly they could take place.

Earlier, Biden also expressed hope for a quick meeting with Xi Jinping following the situation regarding the detection of a Chinese balloon in US airspace.

Xi Jinping is currently in Moscow, where he is on an official visit at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
