Everything can happen. There are political talks going on and these talks will decide everything. The decision will be made in two or three weeks, Szymon Hołownia, the president of Poland 2050, said in the PAP Studio on Thursday, when asked about the joint electoral list with PSL.
Szymon Hołownia, who was asked at the PAP Studio on Thursday whether a decision had already been made on a joint list to the Sejm with PSL, replied that “anything can still happen”.
Political talks are currently underway. These conversations will decide everything. In two weeks, more or less by the end of the month, we should have a preliminary answer as to whether this coalition of Poland 2050 and PSL, and perhaps other entities that want to join this work, will be possible
said Holownia. He also stressed that he hopes “good things will come out of these talks”.
These are not easy conversations, but I am calm about the outcome
he assured.
When asked if he would be a candidate for prime minister if he won the elections in a coalition with PSL Polska 2050, he replied that it was obvious that the leaders of the factions that won the parliamentary elections were candidates for the leadership of the government.
If we have this strength, and we would like to have it, to be the party that will win these elections and enjoy the greatest confidence of the Poles, then it is natural that the leader of such a faction, such a group, such a coalition is prime minister candidate. But I do it with great humility. During these three years in politics I have already experienced all the ups and downs. It has nothing to do with visions
– he said.
He also assured that talks with the PSL had not yet touched on the specific functions to be filled by individual members of the coalition groups.
It’s still too early for that. Today we are talking about matters that we can sit around the table with in two or three weeks to negotiate a coalition agreement
he said.
“The coalition agreement will have to be made public
Our expectation of PSL is and remains unchanged that this coalition agreement will have to be made public. We want new standards in politics. We want to show people how we agreed on departments, money, campaigns
– added.
Hołownia also said that a possible coalition with PSL does not rule out separate positions during some votes.
We will disagree on many issues (…) that we could probably list, but I also hope that we will tell people about it honestly
he said. He also stressed that “Poland 2050 and PSL are two separate organizations” whose aim is to remove Law and Justice from power.
We are not one party. We will not be sure, even if we form an electoral alliance, to form one club in the future Sejm. We and PSL care about autonomy. We have our voters and our agendas
– added.
Szymon Hołownia had already announced that “political teams” of Poland 2050 and PSL would be formed in the near future. By the end of March, they must “bring” the leadership of both parties to a decision on whether Polska 2050 and PSL will start as an electoral coalition in the next Sejm elections.
