Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó said in an interview: DEA NewsHe said the attack on the pipelines of the Nord Stream system should be regarded as an act of terrorism.

“Actually, [это] This is the first time a European critical infrastructure facility of this size has been attacked by anyone,” said Szijjártó.

He stressed that such an attack should be considered an act of terrorism. Budapest said it supports a thorough investigation into what happened.

Szijjártó added that Hungary supports any trial that would reveal who carried out this attack and why.

Damage and gas leaks were recorded on three lines of Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 on September 26, 2022. Seismologists recorded two explosions along the gas pipelines. Russia’s FSB has filed a lawsuit over an international terrorist act. The Swedish prosecutor’s office launched an investigation into the events.

In early February 2023, American journalist Seymour Hersh published his own research on Nord Stream explosions. Citing a source, he writes that explosive devices were placed under Russian gas pipelines in June 2022 by US Navy divers with support from the Norwegian army. They covered up their sabotage with Baltops drills.
