iPhone shipments from India to Russia doubled to 165,000 devices in 2022. In this respect to write Vedomosti refers to the report of the GS Group holding.

From May to December 2022, 165,000 iPhones were imported from India to Russia. That’s more than double what it was in the same period in 2021 (70,000 devices). At the same time, India’s share of the supply of Apple products to Russia in 2021 was only 2.2%. China remains the main supplier.

The publication noted that last year, India supplied 15% of all Apple products imported to Russia through parallel imports.

On December 8, Kommersant newspaper reported, citing data from retailers. WroteThanks to parallel imports, iPhones remain the monetary leader in the Russian smartphone market. In the 11 months of 2022, 21 million smartphones worth RUB 477 billion were sold in Russia. The largest share of revenues – 34% – came from Apple.

Before that, Kommersant wrote that more and more smartphones imported through parallel import began to appear in Russian stores with functions for other parts of the world. So, for example, on store shelves you can find smartphones Apple iPhone, in which it is impossible to turn off the sound of the camera shutter – such models are sold in Japan and Korea. In addition, Russians are advised to buy an iPhone without a SIM card slot (models with eSIM are available in the USA) or with two SIM cards (Chinese version).

Earlier, the Mobiletelephone portal, citing a source, reported that the Svyaznoy retailer has started selling the new iPhone SE 2022 and iPhone 14 smartphone models approved by Apple in Russia. We are talking about gadgets imported into the country, and not through parallel import, unlike previous deliveries of these Apple devices to Russia.
