The Ukrainian prime minister also stressed that this year’s negotiations on Ukraine’s accession to the EU should have a preliminary stage.
The newspaper noted that such a scenario for the inclusion of Ukraine in the European Union by 2025 “no one in the organization finds it realistic”.
Ukraine’s close allies in the EU, such as Poland and the Baltic states, are said to strongly support Kiev’s aspirations to join the union. However, other countries are more cautious in their estimates.
“Expectations from Kiev are quite high, but all the conditions set by the European Commission must be met,” said a senior European official.
