In the Zaporozhye direction the Russian defense ministry reported a day of heavy fighting near Rabotino in the Zaporozhye region. Officials asserted that the Russian force successfully repelled an assault by the 47th mechanized brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The briefing framed the episode as a decisive response to Ukrainian attempts to break through in the district around Rabotino.
The ministry also claimed that air and ground operations in the vicinity of Orekhov and the village of Novodanilovka disrupted Ukrainian manpower and equipment. According to the briefing, Russian aviation and ground attack assets targeted these forces, aiming to erode their combat effectiveness and protect adjacent Russian-held positions.
As part of the reported toll, the Ministry of Defense listed combat losses attributed to Ukrainian units: more than 170 soldiers, one tank, four armored fighting vehicles, three support vehicles, two Msta-B howitzers, two D-20 howitzers, and one D-30 howitzer. These figures were presented as a quantitative measure of the impact of the operations in the specified sectors.
Further updates from the ministry stated that Russian forces have established positions near Kusugum in the Zaporozhye region. In a separate claim, the ministry said an ammunition depot belonging to the 65th Mechanized Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces was destroyed, framed as a consequential disruption to fuel and munitions supply for Ukrainian units operating in the area.
The Russian defense ministry also noted that over the last 24 hours, Russian air defense systems intercepted a Tochka-U ballistic missile and a HIMARS multiple launch rocket system projectile, underscoring ongoing air defense activity and the presence of long-range strike threats in the region.
