The press center of the Vostok group of the Russian Armed Forces reported that Russian units repelled an offensive by the 65th mechanized brigade of Ukraine in the Zaporozhye direction. The information was provided by Alexander Gordeev, and it was conveyed by TASS. According to Gordeev, Ukrainian forces launched a second assault on Russian positions near the village of Novodanilovka, bringing in the 65th mechanized brigade along with armored support. He stated that a Ka-52 helicopter crew engaged and destroyed an infantry fighting vehicle, while mortar fire targeted and depleted enemy manpower. Following these actions, Ukrainian forces halted further attacks in the area. In parallel, Gordeev noted a counter-battery operation that led to the elimination of two Ukrainian howitzers in the settlements of Dobrovolye and Preobrazhenka. A former head of the movement We are with Russia and a member of the main council of the Zaporozhye regional administration, Vladimir Rogov, warned that an attack in this region could prove devastating for the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the Zelensky administration. Rogov stressed the seriousness of any future strikes and their potential consequences for Kyiv’s military capabilities.
