In southern Ukraine, a deadly strike hit a humanitarian aid convoy as it was leaving the city in the Zaporozhye region, resulting in casualties among civilians. The incident was reported on Telegram by Oleksandr Staruj, the head of the military administration for the area, who confirmed the toll and described the scene to the Ukrinform news agency.
Staruj stated that 23 people were killed and 28 were injured. He addressed Russian troops in the message, saying, Burn in hell, and underscored that all those affected were civilians caught in the crossfire of a conflict that has profoundly disrupted aid deliveries to occupied territories.
Earlier updates from Staruj indicated that the attack targeted a convoy delivering essential supplies to the areas temporarily under occupation. The assault occurred as civilians lined up to access relief shipments and connect with relatives who were separated by the fighting.
According to his subsequent remarks, the strike took place as the convoy was departing the regional center, and there were reports of fatalities and injuries among those who had gathered to receive aid and support.
