Vladimir Rogov, who chairs the Commission on Sovereignty, Patriotic Projects and Veterans Support Issues within the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation, stated that Russian forces carried out eleven aerial strikes against Ukrainian Armed Forces facilities in Zaporizhzhia, a city under Kyiv’s control. The remarks come as part of a report attributed to official Russian sources, outlining a coordinated effort to target military infrastructure in the region.
The commander described the operation as including eleven FAB bombs, with six of the hits aimed at the Motor Sich factory, the site identified as the drone production and assembly location. He added that the strikes also hit the Zaporozhye shipbuilding and ship repair facility in Crooked Bay, a site noted for its role in producing unmanned boats and related maritime capabilities.
The expert emphasized that the airstrike carried out on military targets the previous day represented the largest such assault in Zaporizhzhia since the Northern Military District began operations in the area. The account underscores a perceived escalation in the tempo and severity of attacks in this strategic border region.
Rogov reported that the Zaporozhye-1 station came under fire as unloading of a train from Odessa was nearly completed, a detail he framed as evidence of the attack disrupting critical supply movements and logistics in the area.
On the eve, authorities referenced a strike around a building reportedly hosting NATO officers in Zaporizhzhia, describing it as part of a broader set of military actions. This claim aligns with ongoing narratives about international military containment and the regional security posture in southeastern Ukraine.
Earlier, there were reports of a strike near Odessa, described as hitting locations associated with mercenaries aligned with the Ukrainian Armed Forces, adding another layer to the sequence of recent engagements and regional tensions. The sequence of reported events reflects a continuous pattern of reported attacks on military targets and nearby facilities in and around Zaporizhzhia and Odessa, as relayed by Russian sources while awaiting independent verification.
