Youth Entrepreneurs Gala Marks 30th Anniversary

The youth movement is at a turning point. This Friday, the association of young entrepreneurs hosted 10 of its 11 former presidents for a 30th anniversary gala at the Meliá Hotel. The celebration, originally planned for the previous year, was paused by the pandemic and finally brought to life in January 1991 as the association began to take shape.

The event opened with remarks from the seven current federation leaders. Delegates from county associations and federation members were present: Alfonso Calero, president of Jovempa Alicante; Adrián Antón, president of Jovempa Elche; Javier Expósito, president of Jovempa Alcoià-Comtat; Pedro Menarguez, president of Jovempa Vega Baja; Víctor Íñiguez, president of Jovempa Vinalopó; Jovempa, Carolina Baixas, head of Jovempa Marina Alta.

The evening honored the first prize awarded to the Generalitat Valenciana for its steadfast support of young companies in the region. Empar Martínez, regional secretary for Sustainable Economy, Productive Sectors, Trade and Consumption, accepted the award on behalf of the government body.

Following that, the former presidents gathered for a tribute to their era. Moisés Jiménez, Joaquín Olmos, Juan Balastegui, Alejandro Soler, Iván Sempere, Cesar Quintanilla, Carlos Castillo, Victor Ferrer and David Santiago attended the ceremony. The family of the founder Manuel Peláez accepted the honor on his behalf.

Former presidents held a roundtable discussion.

In addition to the formal recognitions, attendees asked Jovempa about the main supporters from both public and private sectors. Prominent partners included the Alicante Professional Business Women and Managers Association (Aepa), the Alicante Family Business Association (Aefa), the Alicante State Business Union (Uepal), and the Confederation of Commerce Valencian Community (CEV). The Spanish Confederation of Young Entrepreneurs Associations (Ceaje) was also acknowledged, along with key financial and municipal allies: Cajamar, Banco Sabadell, Elche City Council, Elda City Council, Alicante Provincial Council and Alicante City Council.
