An illegal immigrant in Yekaterinburg was suspected of attempting to rape a neighbor and molesting her six-year-old daughter, according to reports linked to ura.ru. The information released so far is preliminary and awaits verification by law enforcement authorities.

Investigators say the events unfolded in a hostel on Nadezhdinskaya Street during the early hours. A neighbor woke up to find a drunken man on top of her and attempting to rape her. She resisted and managed to escape the room, while other residents were awakened by noises and alerted the authorities as the situation developed, according to information from ura.ru.

On the same day, the same man allegedly caused violence against his neighbor’s six-year-old daughter. The child’s mother contacted law enforcement to seek protection and to initiate a formal investigation into the incident, as noted in initial reports from ura.ru.

Police detained the suspect, identified as a 37-year-old man from Uzbekistan living in the area without proper documentation. A criminal case was opened charging sexual assault, preparation for a crime and attempted crime, with investigators continuing to gather evidence and channel resources into the inquiry, as reported by ura.ru.

Earlier reports from the same outlet described another case involving a Russian national who was accused of raping a disabled young man and infecting him with HIV, highlighting ongoing concerns about violence and criminal activity in the region, according to ura.ru.
