On Saturday, May 27, Moscow is expected to experience a mix of clouds, showers, and the occasional thunderstorm, with temperatures reaching up to 22°C. This forecast comes from the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia and is a reminder that spring weather in the capital can swing quickly from sunshine to wet spells.
During the day in central Moscow, temperatures are projected to climb to 20–22°C, while Sunday night will bring cooler air around 7°C. A northwestern wind will blow at 6–11 m/s, potentially increasing to as much as 15 m/s in stronger storm events. Atmospheric pressure is anticipated to hold around 749 mm Hg, a detail often noted by meteorologists when tracking changing weather patterns across the city.
In the surrounding suburbs, warm conditions are also on the slate, with daytime temperatures ranging from 19 to 24°C. Come Sunday night, thermometers could dip to about 5°C, underscoring the noticeable temperature swing typical of late May in the region.
Roman Vilfand, the former Scientific Director of the Hydrometeorology Center, commented on what the weather might look like in Moscow through the end of May. He noted that today’s temperature trend places the capital roughly 3.5°C above the long-term norm. The expert added that precipitation should be minimal in the final days of the month, with air masses arriving from the north on Saturday and influencing the day-to-day conditions.
Vilfand also indicated that a gradual warming is expected to persist through the coming week, with daytime temperatures likely remaining between 19 and 23°C through the end of the month. This outlook suggests a steady warm-up as May transitions into June, with more stable and mild weather becoming common once any lingering showers have moved on.
