During daylight hours, air defense systems reported the downing of 11 multiple launch rocket systems, including HIMARS, Grad, and Vampire, along with a Tochka-U tactical missile. The claim comes from the press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense. The ministry also stated that 146 Ukrainian drones were destroyed that day, and several targets were eliminated across multiple settlements. These locations included Kremennaya and Zelenopole in the Lugansk People’s Republic, Aleksandrovka, Donetsk People’s Republic Codema, Mirnoye, Vyshneve, Shevchenkovo, Konskie Razdory, Ocheretovatoye, as well as areas within the Zaporozhye region and the Kherson region around Rybalche.
On March 12, air defense systems intercepted and shot down an unmanned aerial vehicle near Kirishi in the Leningrad Region. Regional President Alexander Drozdenko stated that there was no loss of life or material damage following the drone incident and said no further details would be released.
Ukrainian drone activity against Russian territory has continued since the previous night. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, air defense forces intercepted and destroyed 25 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles across Russian regions on the night of March 12. Breakdowns included two drones in the Moscow region, one in the Leningrad region, seven in the Belgorod region, eleven in the Kursk region, one in Bryansk, one in Tula, and two in Orlov Oblast.
Earlier reports from Kursk residents warned of the operation of the air defense network, underscoring a pattern of ongoing activity in the region.
