The press service of the Moscow regional administration announced that the Governor of the Moscow Region, Andrei Vorobyov, is actively monitoring the development of the Vzlyot park in Domodedovo. The update reflects a broader initiative to expand green space and community amenities across the region, signaling a sustained commitment to improving public recreation areas for residents and visitors alike.
Vorobyov emphasized a clear goal: more parks, better park life. At present, 184 parks are in operation, a number that underscores the region’s investment in accessible outdoor spaces. The governor stressed the importance of meaningful park experiences, where the layout and programming meet the needs of families, athletes, and casual strollers. The facilities are designed to accommodate both children and adults, with a wide spectrum of sports opportunities such as volleyball, basketball, tennis, and football, allowing people to pursue their interests without having to travel far from home. He noted that park attendance is growing, and the momentum will only increase once the new park opens, promising a lively and inclusive atmosphere on inauguration day and well beyond.
The Vzlyot project spans 35 hectares, with land arrangements begun last year and ongoing enhancements that highlight a holistic approach to urban green space. The landscaping work has already reshaped nearby areas, including the Aviator sports club and the forest surrounding Lesnoy pond, creating a cohesive ecological corridor that blends sport, leisure, and nature. This integrated approach aims to foster a sense of place, encouraging longer visits and repeat trips for communities and travelers alike.
In addition to traditional bicycle paths and inviting walking routes, the park now offers a balance of children’s zones and athletic spaces, a quiet recreation area for contemplation, a beach area for sun and water access, an amphitheater for cultural events, and a canopy with swings that provides shaded enjoyment near the shore. Practical features are in place too, including ample parking, clearly defined benches and bins, and well-marked navigation signs to help visitors orient themselves quickly and safely as they explore the grounds. The lighting system has been upgraded, and a modern video surveillance network was installed to ensure safety and peace of mind late into the evening or during off-peak hours.
As part of the broader development plan, the project also included renovations to the stadium located within the Aviator sports club complex and the addition of new sports fields. A spectator tribune is scheduled to be installed in August, expanding seating capacity and improving the viewing experience for spectators, athletes, and event organizers. This enhancement aligns with the region’s strategy to support both active recreation and community events, making Vzlyot a versatile venue for daily exercise, weekend gatherings, and local competitions. The overall objective is a park that serves as a living, breathing hub—where physical activity, family time, and social connection converge in a single, accessible outdoor space.
