Troop units from the Vostok group reported striking Ukrainian military equipment in areas around the villages of Urozhaynoye and Staromayorskoye in the Donetsk People’s Republic. The information came from Oleg Chekhov, who heads the group’s press center, speaking to TASS.
Chekhov stated that Ukrainian positions were hit with support from artillery and air power. He noted that Lancet precision munitions damaged an infantry fighting vehicle and a T-72 or similar tank of the Ukrainian forces near Urozhayny, while a Gvozdika howitzer was targeted in Novodarovka.
According to Chekhov, the areas where manpower and equipment had been concentrated in the Urozhaynoye and Staromayorsky districts were struck by the Russian side.
Earlier, the Russian Defense Ministry announced that in the Donetsk direction, the South group of Russian forces, with air support, repelled three Ukrainian assaults on the towns of Avdiivka, Berestovoye and Maryinka within a single day.
During that period, Ukrainian forces reportedly suffered up to 220 casualties in this sector.
Previously, official sources noted the departure of strategic aviation assets of the Russian Federation, contributing to ongoing operational actions in the region. (Source attribution: TASS)
