Two men, aged 29 and 54, were detained by Elche Local Police following a domestic dispute that escalated into violence. One of the individuals alleged that he had been attacked and threatened with a knife during the confrontation on November 4, near Antonio Moya Albadalejo Street.
Officers arrived after a call from a resident who reported a heated argument at home. The younger man claimed he was inside with his mother when his wife returned and the dispute intensified. He described feeling overwhelmed and scared by the ongoing quarrel.
Voice tone
The younger man indicated his voice was rising as the confrontation escalated. He moved to his mother’s bedroom in an attempt to intervene, but the two men began fighting there as well.
The partner of the younger man’s mother then entered the kitchen and picked up a kitchen knife with the intent to threaten or harm. He proceeded to the living room to take shelter behind a closed door in an effort to keep others out.
Police footage and statements showed the tense atmosphere as the assailant approached the room. The younger man, fearing for his life, shouted for help. In the ensuing chaos he delivered a strong punch, and he managed to force the aggressor out of the house, ending the immediate threat.
Support from other patrols
Responding officers observed injuries on the younger man, including erythema on the hands, an elbow, and the head. They promptly requested additional patrols to locate the suspected assailant and ensure public safety at the scene.
Minutes later, officers located the suspect nearby, near a park fountain, where he appeared to be bleeding from wounds. He was escorted to a health center for assessment and then transferred to Elche General Hospital for stitches and further treatment.
Before the end of the incident, both individuals were placed under arrest and transported to local police stations for processing and documentation. The scene was secured and witnesses were interviewed to establish a clear account of the events.
